Anyone use a Kifaru Echo for a daypack?

Looks like a great pack without a waistbelt. Any opinions on it? Not for hauling meat just scouting and day trips.

It holds a bit more that it looks with the zipper around the back creating more volume. But even so, it’s still a relatively small pack. The size reminds me of a typical middle school kids booksack. The front dump pocket is useful. I had to sew in a piece of webbing on the side above the bottle pouch so there was some retention to hold arrows. It could use a small strap there to hold the top of a tripod or trekking poles that you put in the bottle pockets.

I’d go with the shape charge without a belt if it’s an option. I just think it’s a more versatile pack with better organization.

I had it for a few months, and I liked it. But I didn't $375 like it. It's small, but fit what I needed. I went back to a $80 Camelbak alpine explorer that has lasted me for 16 years. If you just have to have the name, I guess it's an option. If I can get external water bottle pockets sewn onto an Avail, I'd go that route again. Shape charge was too tall for me for under the seat of the plane, and I didn't want pouches hanging off the outside of my day pack and catching on stuff.

I agree about the Avail. It would be perfect if it had water bottle pockets. Thanks for the input. For now my Kuiu Divide 1500 has been pretty good.
