I’m exploring the option of turning my wife’s 6.5 CM sig cross into a 22 CM. There’s nothing wrong with the 6.5 and it’s only been shot about 100 rounds so far but she’s really come to like the small recoil from my 22-250. It’s obvious that she shoots the 250 better too.
I’m going to eventually switch to the 22 CM in my Tikka, so I figure switching her rifle first will be a good excuse to buy quality brass and dies.
I was looking into buying a prefit from PBB or maybe buying a quality blank and having a local smith do the chambering. Right now it’s about $100 difference so no big deal either way. Thinking a 1:7.5 twist and going about 20-22 inches. It’ll be suppressed with a TBAC U9 or Banish 30.
Just looking for someone’s experience that might have already done this. Anything you would have done different?
