Anyone running a flatbed on their hunting rig?

I've got a 2500hd crew cab short bed Chevy that's primarily my tow rig and recreation/hunting rig. I tow fifth wheel campers with it and just picked up a different camper and its looking like I'll have to flip the axles to get the correct ride height out of it and to clear the box rails. I've done it on another camper and its not a big deal, but I'm tossing around the idea of going with a flat bed and just ruling out wrecking my box when I'm taking the rig somewhere I shouldn't. Anyone else running one? Whats your tool box set up? I've been doing this for a few years and haven't totaled out a box or tailgate yet, but I'm not camping in KOA's and I know sooner or later dumb things happen.

I’ve worked out I pickups both ways. I currently have the box on my f350 but will be going flat very soon. If I didn’t haul every week I probably wouldn’t do it

i have dinged a couple tailgates but every time i get the urge to go flat i look at my buds when we go somewhere.
they cant haul near what i can because of no sides and everything has to be lashed down. i have even had to go back and pick up stuff that fell off of their truck twice.

Would love a flat on my F350 dually, but rules change with them. I can't recite exactly what, but I think some DOT rules change, or maybe it was going ot Canada. For me locally, it means I can't go the the local dump/transfer station as 'citizen'. No flat beds allowed - I'd have to haul junk up to the main county dump.

Flatbed offers a ton of more useable space especially when hauling large objects or a four-wheeler. Only issue I have is everything is in plain sight and I think more tempting to people as I’ve had several items stolen which secured on the bed. For storage adding underbody boxes or getting a flatbed with boxes built in adds a ton of storage.

I will never be without a flatbed again. Two of my trucks have flatbeds. I prefer the Bradford Built beds with the underneath toolboxes.
