Anyone put a non-Varmint Tikka in a Varmint stock?

I sure like the feel of my Tikka Varmint .223 stock. I have a 1-8” stainless T3, I’m thinking about swapping the stock for a Varmint if I can find one. Any pitfalls, given the drastic difference in barrel profiles between the Varmint and the Lite?

The varmit stock is basically a shoe that snaps over the forend. Or at least it is on my t3x varmit, along with the larger barrel channel. I can swap stocks between my varmit & upr, Inc my mdt oryx that I put the 6.5 upr in.

I was thinking the barrel inlet for the Varmint would look funny on a Lite, given the difference in contour. Maybe also affecting performance.

It might look a little roomy but it certainly won't affect performance. Even the Lite Tikka barrels are equivalent to a medium sporter contour.

Do it.

I have a 19mm Blaser barrel (semi-weight) in a safari-match contour stock.

Because I got the stock on a massive sale.

Won't hurt anything.

Yes. My buddy’s 25-06 chopped to 19”

I hit the range yesterday to try the .223 sporter in the Varmint stock. Soooo much better! 12 shots under an inch. Better eye alignment and cheek weld.
