Hey all. I have a Bergara ridge in 6.5 creed that I am considering replacing the OEM factory sporter stock with a nicer after market stock. The rifle is shooting great (05.-0.75moa groupings) however I would prefer a stock with a more vertical grip and better rigidity. I am trying to keep the total rifle under 11-12lbs so a stock weighing more than about 3lbs is a no go for me (the OEM stock weighs about 30oz). The rifle will mostly be shot from a bench, but I would like to keep it light enough so that it could be carried short distances to and from a deer blind.
I came across the Mc3 tradition stock, resembling the McMillan game scout, that weighs in right at 3lbs and costs only $300 (https://mc3stocks.com/products/tradition). I read that Mc3 used to be affiliated with McMillan up until 2020, but is still currently owned by one of the McMillan children. However there is very little information out there about their products.
I am wondering if anyone has purchased an Mc3 stock post 2020 and whether or not you would recommend their stocks? Their website currently looks pretty sparse too, so I am also wondering if they are still in business. Would I be better served by going with other budget oriented stocks such as the KRG Bravo, Bell and Carlson, H&S precision, MDT field stock, etc.? Thanks!
