I’ve done some extensive googling with no luck. My QL says I can go up to 73.5! That’s not true. I called Sierra and they haven’t tested the 7PRC. I’m using H1000 and thinking of running a ladder of 67-70g in ADG brass. Anyone load TMKs?

I don't see why you can't load 70g of H1000. I'm shooting 175ELDX with 69.2g H1000 in ADG brass and don't see pressure signs till 70.5ish grains

Just got back from the range. Hodgdon site told me max charge was 67.7 for 162g bullet. I agree with Doc that I could load up to 70 no problem but I wanted to be conservative. I ran 67, 68, and 69. 8 rounds of each charge (I only had 24 bullets to test). 69 grains got me a velocity of 2900 shooting a 20” barrel suppressed. All groups under an inch. Going forward I would load 69-71. I bet I would see pressure north of 71 and velocities in the low 3000’s. My 175g Berger EH grouped slightly better so I may stick with those. Not sure.

I’ve shot the heavier bullets (180m and 175x) but gave the 162 eldm a try to pick up some velocity with my 20” barrel and dang do they shoot good! This barrel has shot everything very well but the 162’s are shooting exceptionally well. I’m at 69 grains of N565 in ADG brass. I went higher but everything is happy at that 69 grain charge. Might run it over the chrono today but I’m guessing I’m in that 2950 range. I have also thought about trying the 160 TMK but wasn’t thrilled about the lower BC.

One issue I ran into loading the small for caliber bullet was having enough bearing surface of the bullet in the case neck. I ran them .05 off and probably only had .2 of bearing surface. I know the general rule is a calibers worth in the neck. For me to get .28 of bearing surface I would have to run them around .12” off the lands.

A 162 ELDM in my SAAMI chamber is 3.312" to the lands and I am loading them at 3.270" which is what Hodgdon's load data has them at. This puts the boattail barely above the neck/shoulder junction and about as far down as my bushing sizing die sizes anyways and they fit great in a Tikka mag. I would like to see what length a TMK is at, I almost think it would have a slightly longer COAL.

Did a ladder with H1000 and 160 Accubonds, and wasn't getting pressure at 70.3 but that was where is stopped as accuracy was great. Just what I seen in my rifle for that load. Also, was using Hornady brass and CCI 250 primers just to clarify that

What velocity and what length is your barrel?
