Jordan I believe hunt swaps are against the law for someone without an outfitting license. Alaska is very strict with what it considers guiding and compensation for that service.
Perhaps on the Dangerous game RU....Sheep, Goats and Big Bears. Those have an outfitter requirement.
I am unaware of any state where hosting someone for a hunt, and hunting together is a form of compensation. Now if you say that "the hunt is WORTH $3500" and you don't have an outfitters license, you are asking for trouble.
However if Our Wyoming Friend would like to hunt Alaska Moose, with his Alaska buddy who wants to hunt Wyoming elk, and nobody pays anyone that doesn't have an outfitter license, then all is well.
If you are going to pay someone though, be sure they have an outfitter or transporter license...
Trading is to assume value which requires a license. Friends hunting together does not. Interpret how you want. Alaska swap hunting section would be very popular
thanks for the input guys. I just over heard this trading hunts at the archery shop. I knew it would be a long shot, but wanted to see if there was any interest. Like 2rocky said it would just be a friend helping a friend with a hunt
I know its not the super sexy Alaskan game but anyone wanting to hunt whitetail and/or turkey in Missouri is welcome to join me. I'm no outfitter but I can get you into both. Just throwing it out there.
