Anyone hunt with North Star outfitters

The reports here match what I saw hunting from my boat this fall. There were hunters absolutely stacked in the outfitter area. We hunted around the edge of the large area dominated by the airboat hunters (there was consistent daily animal movement), but honestly it sucked dealing with crowds like that. From what I've observed after 3 hunts up there, North Star does a fine job for the hunt they can sell - but the quality of the experience is rapidly declining and it's out of their hands to fix that issue.

We had a morning this year (around Sept 3rd?) where it sounded like Vietnam over on the tributary river. We talked to a couple different groups of hunters who were camped that way and it sounded like pure chaos with a small herd of caribou just running back and forth between camps getting peppered from long range.

FWIW - We went 1/2 and we shot the only mature bull we saw the whole trip. Plenty of cows/calves/young bulls. As much as I enjoy going up there, I am questioning if it's worth the drive and effort any more.

My group killed 3. Northstar seems to have some good spots, but I feel they are trying to capitalize on people that are going on their first trip like this. They had camps stacked every 3/4 mile or less in the section we were. We asked about other hunters in the area and how many camps they had, those questions were avoided and not answered.
That’s not hunting to me,you go to alaska to get away.Sounds like a shit show.
Not even close to the Alaskan experience I have always dreamed off.
