Anyone here shotgunning predators?

I've been interested in getting into coyote hunting once the deer season is over and the potential firearms in the safe right now are 30-30, 44Mag carbine, and a shotgun and this thread has me leaning towards shotgun as the best option, especially in the closer quarters (Michigan woods) that I'd likely be shooting in.

#4 seems to be the consensus, but what about choke for those up-to-50 yard shots?

Turkey or predator choke. Make sure it’s rated for tungsten shot.

To all these others, why are you carrying a shotgun and a rifle coyote hunting?

Yes! I've killed hundreds of coyotes with my old pump action 870, Most stands I only bring a shotgun. The best ammo by far is the Hornady Heavy Magnum Coyote. Every single coyote I have hit has not got away. Shot coyotes from 10-70 yards out. Heavy Magnum Coyote
