But isn’t a voodoo like 4x the cost of most factory 22 rifles??? Not saying don’t buy them but obviously they are going to be better than a factory rifles.
My 77/22 can shoot .5” groups, for 2k+ I’d expect it to shoot better.
Just saying, voodoo 22s aren’t magic, it’s hey shoot like a 2500 dollar 22 should lol.
I never stated that they are magic. However, they are the most accurate .22 repeaters made, and the only 22’s that can match them regardless of make are the single shot Anschutz. I keep hearing about all these other .22’s that shoot .5” at 50 yards. Funny thing is they never seem to do it on demand when I’m there.
I could not care less what anyone shoots, but there’s as much nonsense about .22 rifle precision as there is about centerfires. Around a year ago a few of us got into the .22 precision field matches. Precision is really important in some of those matches if you’re looking to win. We tested a lot rifles from suped up 10/22’s, CZ’s, Ruger, Savages, Marlin, etc, etc, every brand/make/model of ammo that Brownells, Cabelas, and Sportmans sold, and tested them on a wind blocked range. Each combo was shot benched for three 10 round groups at 50 yards. Then the best ammo for each gun was reshot for a 30 round group.
The best gun of all the factory rifles was the CZ 455 Varmint Tactical’s which averaged just over half an inch at 50 yards with two brands/models of 22 ammo. The VAST majority of guns could not keep 30 rounds under an inch. Almist none of the other rifles were consistent enough to be competitive.
Now, half inch groups at 50 can produce good scores, however there are targets that are .25” at 50 yards and they’re worth a lot of points. Enter the Vudoo.
It can produce precision that no other .22 repeater can because of the controlled round feeding. The bullet nose never touches anything on the way in the chamber. If you’re trying to win at those matches, there really isn’t any gun that can match it.
The Tikka is the second most accurate .22 I’ve/we’ve shot. Whereas the Vudoo’s average 30 round groups with the best ammo are .35’ish of an inch at 50, the Tikka is .45’ish. Sub .5 inch 30 round groups at fifty yards IS competitive.
