Yeah I wanna poke the dude in the eye for not providing context and background. I'm not doing a research project to understand him/her/it/them.
I have no idea who these people are lol
Aron was one of the creators of rokslide. Patrick Smith hired him on at Kifaru and Aron helped develop and test most of the original Kifaru duplex frames and timberline packs. He helped grow the business exponentially and bought the business when Patrick retired. He sold his Rokslide share when he took on a bigger role in Kifaru.

I've only met the guy once and don't have any judgement to pass in this thread. I'm not looking forward to this offseason though if we have time for gossip threads during hunting season.

I don't know if I'd call it ironic, but I would call it interesting. Is the moderation biased? Is one person/group protected via select moderation? Probably, but I'm sure that's difficult to eliminate completely.

Being unaware of this tendency is what turns things south IMO, and the entire community loses some degree of validity.

So, I think the question is valid, though the delivery is a bit accusational/aggressive. And, as with most polarizing "famous" figures, the tribes will certainly push back from both sides.

Definitely interesting.
Bingo.

I would say from observation that the fuse is a little shorter for threads on Aron than some others. It doesnt ruin my day, knowing that Aron was an owner here at one time I almost expect that. As long as we have humans as mods, 100% objectivity is not going to happen. Overall, I appreciate the work done here to keep the drama from getting out of hand.

Aron seems like a complicated personality. I've watched him be very diligent with helping people out with issues over the years. I've also seen things that tell me that he and I approach the world in very different ways. Down that line I've really come to appreciate the more workmanlike and understated approach of Kurt from SG, and Steve and Mark from Exo.

I don't see it as sweeping truth under a rug. Nothing good comes from an endless bashing session. When I see people take the high road, they go up in my mind.

To add something constructive to this thread. This is the way I also see things working around here.

MHG was allowed to absolutely slaughter OGDramaLlama, Delete Member, AVB and a few I am probably missing but anytime a few people/companies get brought up, threads get shutdown pretty quick.

Now do I blame Mods/RS for doing it? No, not really.
Do I think it awfully convenient that there seems to be some "protection" for certain people/companies? Yes, yes I do.
Does it effect me or my life to a level that I am going to create a thread to complain about it? Nope.

Eventually one of two things will happen. It will become so obvious that this place has fallen inline with those that pay the bills that its nauseating and I will find a new forum to call home or it wont and in 15 years, I will be the old fart still hanging around.

and everyone of these POS threads changed the tone of the site to negative (not just on the threads themselves but it bleeds out to how people get treated everywhere on here. you don't see it like we do because you're not a mod, just a consumer) That's why you remember them and they're why we watch closer now. AVB got put up when a bunch of us were out hunting ourselves or would've got taken down much sooner.

and the Elkshape thread, that one too taught us this stuff is poison to most members.

Just took a random screenshot of "what's new" posts on Rokslide in the last 60 seconds. Those are the topics we created this place for, not gossip site.

we allow members to put up 1,000s of company reviews, and as long as factual, they stay up.

I would disagree with remembering them because they are negative but I am not here to bitch and moan about how you all choose to run your site. I can log out anytime I want and if to gets to a level that I find unacceptable, I will. I have always said that the Slide is one of the best ran forums I have ever been apart of and still stand by that.

I dont spend time here like I use to so I probably dont see it and really only open threads that interest me.

This thread reminds me of that Mad Men meme:

OP: “I feel bad for you.”

Snyder: “I don’t think about you at all.”
