Anyone ever see RL 26

I still have plenty for my current loads that have been proven, but am reluctant to work on new loads for new rifles with RL 26. Does anyone ever see it on sale anymore?

They suspended all sales last year and I haven’t heard anything different so likely SOL until all the military stuff going on gets settled. Nitrocellulose shortage I believe was the reason. If someone has more info on that they can correct me.

This ^^^. I have about 15 lbs sitting on my shelf. I'm going to load it up and move on to something else eventually. Great powder, but plenty of others (that you can actually purchase) work as well.

I emailed Alliant a few months ago, This is the response I received from them.



It is still being made and by no means discontinued.

Currently the bulk of the issue with powder (all powder companies) is the Lack of Nitrocellulose. Nitrocellulose is a key component in double base powders. All our powders are double base. The shortage of Nitrocellulose is caused from supply and demand. There are only two suppliers that manufacture Nitrocellulose. One out of the two currently shut down for the foreseeable future. Causing our current shortage. We only sale to distributors, who then sale to retailers. Distributors can sale any where at any time. They do not share that information with us.

Both H100 and VV565 are similar to 26, enough so that I've stopped haunting the local and online stores for 26.

H1k and rl26 are not even CLOSE to the same. Rl26 hides pressure better than Pelosi hides illegal trades.

They're damn near identical on paper. Ramshot Hunter and StaBall HD are close enough to give a try.
Pelosi's trades are tracked so well you can make the same trades

Well, I've burned a lot of h1k and 26. 26 is everything I said. Feel free to press your luck with it. It's badass.....then it's a bomb.

Great powder, but plenty of others (that you can actually purchase) work as well.

My thoughts exactly. I'm off Alliant powder entirely until they come to their senses. No way I'm paying $70/pound for their stuff when every other powder is available for $40-50. It's not magic pixie dust, and they're overplaying their hand here.

It's also funny how they're the only ones still pounding the "nitrocellulose shortage" drum, while every other manufacturer's powder is available in quantity right now.

Plenty of other fish in the sea.
