Anyone ever had a Spiker sound like the oldest meanest bull on the mountain?

I had a few bulls going this AM and one sounded deep and old like a mature bull compared to all of them. He bugled all the way in and chuckling them out walks the smallest spike ever….

I can only attest to elk in Colorado and Wyoming, but the sound of a bugle is no real judge of age/size. I've heard deep/raspy rag horns and old mature bulls that sound like a broken recorder from 3rd grade music class.

First time in my life that I was fooled by an old mature bugle this year. He was a 3 x spike (long spike) but had a huge body. I'm thinking he really was a mature bull, but has some form of genetic defect. I have NEVER heard a raghorn sound like a mature bull, but I have heard mature bulls sound a little wispy.....at least to start. By the time things get ramped up, they're always in full on deep gutteral mode.
