Anyone else tired of bouncing between 3–5+ apps just to manage rifle/shooting data?

I hear ya on all the apps & other generated data & information management. I’ve trimmed down to
Revic for my rangefinder, shooter for ballistic, &
Utilize my phone notes folders as well as taking pics of info & keeping them in a folder.

Hopefully I can wean myself off further by utilizing
The S2H. THLR reticle.

I use a notebook to keep track of each rifle and the reloading work I do for that rifle. Including Chrono everything.

I have Zeiss Victory RF Binoculars and I do use the app however the app sucks for quick access.

The main app I like is the Revic app. I have tons of confidence in it and its super user friendly and reliable.

Nothing else.

I get what you’re saying about the 3-5 apps to get ballistic data. I look at it as a backup system. Sig BDX is first as I’ve found it’s the quickest way to my data, then if my rangefinder quits I have a chart on my watch. If my watch quits every rifle has a laminated chart on it in some way shape or form. That data comes from GeoBallistics.
Yeah same boat, I’ve been liking Revic lately, used to use AB more. Out in the field with RF binos, dope on my gun, etc is definitely the KISS method like mentioned above. It’s when I’m shooting a ton for fun, or fiddling with changes/fine tuning now and through the off season that I’m diving into all this other stuff. I do see room to clean up my system though for sure.

BTW....

This is a good, interesting topic.

I will be honest, I don't use any apps currently. Nor do I use a chronograph or kestrel or any of that.

The only apps I have are a couple of reloading data apps, just to look up load recipes. I am considering looking into a ballastics app. Not really sure if i actually need one though.
Are you shooting long range much or mostly a couple hundred and in? I rely so heavily on the apps and dope. I know my dials pretty well for even numbers out to 500 or so, but above that my dope card is my best friend (or an app if I’m not hunting). Especially comes into play while hunting or training the shot is 432 or some random number. I also do all of my dope cards in 25yd increments for hunting handle those in between numbers if needed.

Because most devices are tied to a specific app. Unless you buy every single device from the same vendor (which they all seem to think likely) you eventually end up managing multiple apps.
Agreed…when I’m building my cards I also never just trust one. I’ll trust but verify against another just to be sure. It’s a check/balance for myself too, to make sure I didn’t fat finger an input.

The phone notes I use a ton too. Not as annoying to me as the excel and word stuff.

I feel like my load development process would probably be similar to yours…and I have heard horror stories about apps crashing, or just deleting a guys days entirely.

Ha, I’m at the exact same place. Love my RF binos, I love them while hunting and have really enjoyed using them this year as I’m out shooting at random ranges a lot more to simulate hunting. But, it’s another app/profile manager I have to maintain. So I have that in the Swaro app, but I don’t like their ballistic app/tables at all outside of managing binos…hence using Revic and/or AB.

How do you like the Revic app overall? That’s the one I have preferred lately. I wish one of these apps did all/most of what each individual one does. Or at least made it super easy to get data from one to another.

I have not lost any data from the apps like some folks but I also make sure I am signed in to the app and back stuff up to my account. That saved me the one time 4DOF crashed after an update.

I like the Revic app just fine and would run it as my only solver if it had the ability to add notes or comments to a load. It matches my Shooter data perfectly which was why I left 4DOF and went to Shooter because 4DOF wouldn’t match Revic and Revic was giving me accrurate solutions.
