Image is not the concern, if that was the case you would never be able to buy anything. What if someone bought a Donzi and went out and got drunk and blew through another boat on the lake at 80mph? Is that a good look for Donzi?

Companies that manufacture the product are less likely to take the blame in my opinion. This is the same for a vehicle or a boat.

For example, my company will never do company trucks for this reason. No one will remember its a Ford if someone gets in accident and kills someone. They will remember the company that was plastered on the side of it.

And with social media now a days, is there is no innocent until proven guilty anymore. There is just a image of a smashed up company truck and a dead person. Doesn't matter who was at fault, even if it was the other driver, still a bad look for a company.

I’ve been told that UPS won’t resell any of their trucks for a similar reason, and also because they have a patent on the configuration of the truck themselves.

When a truck reaches it EOL, they salvage whatever they can, then send it to the crusher.
