anyone cut off their excess MBG dovetail?

I had a 4 inch dovetail that was a bit too short, now i have a 6 inch dovetail that's a little too long. the extra dovetail sticking out the back prevents me from getting my tight spot quiver really close to my bow. has anyone cut this off? did it cut fairly easily?
