Anybody shoot the Lapua TRX yet?

I see that Lapua has introduced a new solid bullet called the TRX. Perhaps this is another competitor for the Barnes TTSX, et al. They make a 120 grain in 6.5mm and I think I'm going to load some in my 6.5x47 as I plan my antelope and deer load for next year.
If anyone has had any luck with it yet, please share your experience.

They look pretty average to me. Worse bc than a Barnes LRX with similar expansion. Only good thing I saw was that they show realistic expansion at various velocities.

They are about 5-7 thousandths longer than a Sierra 130 TMK. The heel sits below the case neck/shoulder junction, at least in my 6.5x47. The Sierra heel does not.

I took 20 shots at 200 yards prone off the bipod this morning. I think with a little load work and some patience, this bullet has potential.

They work. Took this 215# boar Super Bowl weekend. I was hoping at least for a quartering shot for a chance at bullet recovery and I got it. 165gr 308 TRX out of a 16” 1/10RH 308AR. I’m pushing 2600 fps with 42.4 AR Reloader compressed. Took the boar at 160 yds on the sprint. 2.81 OAL. I still need to fine tune the load but it works well. Slightly under 1 MOA. 5 shot groups and I always throw one. Shouldn’t dip below 2000 fps until 400yds. I think with some tuning I can get it sub 3/4 MOA. That’s good enough for up to a 400 yd shot. I shot steel with it out to 500 yds and they were all 1st round impacts.

That's a nice looking boar, and a great shot. The LRX looks predictable for accuracy and bullet performance. Thanks for the report. And welcome to Rokslide.

Thanks. I’m a fan of 308 shorties for typical hunting. I’ll post more on load development when I get some time. With Barnes, bullet seating played a major role in getting my groups to .25MOA out of my 300WM. I’m hoping for the same external ballistic improvement with these Lapua TRXs
