anybody know Gary Weir @ Nature Art Taxidermy in Montrose, CO?

A close friend of mine hunted Co in 2013 and went to Gary with his first Bull and a dandy muley, paid the guy $1200 and now gary wont reply to calls or txt, my buddy posted this on his FB page month ago

I guess I'm out 2 mounts from Gary. Paid in full for both my first elk and first mule deer both taken on the same hunt on the uncompahgre plateau. Last communication I got from Gary was back in June when he asked for help with shipping. He has not responded to voicemail or text. That mule deer was really nice....

we were hoping to find someone who might be able to help get his capes and horns back... my friend has realized the $ is prob history but if he could recover any part of his mounts it'd mean a lot

I'm really not someone who likes to bitch publicly but Co is a long way from Mo to go on a wild goose chase

If that was me and he had two animal of mine and never got back, i would make the trip and be knocking at his door or wait till he got home to get my horns back at least. Most all the animals i get mounted mean a lot to me and i sure they do to u also, some one needs to contact a lawyer and take this guy to court. The way the articles read he wouldn't have a leg to stand on in court.

Similar thing happened to my buddy but with a different guy. It was his first antelope and we took it to a guy and payed in full. Stopped by multiple times home and office called thousand of times nothing. Filed claims with better business contracted lawyer. In the end guy got sick and died Wyoming fish and game inventories his freezer and my buddies cape and horns are still in the triple trash bag we dropped it off in three years earlier. Cape amazingly was still good and in the end gets it mounted. Hopefully your friend gets lucky and has his antlers back it does happen.

Gary almost got my friend again, December 2013 he contacted him and offered him smoking deal on a cat hunt, half-price just send a check up front. My buddy tried to talk me into it but I declined, The deeper you dig the more dirt you can find on this guy.

I don't know how it went down(hopefully Ck will fill us in) but I do know it took some nuts to go into this situation and get it done!

Dan's friend who owned the antlers and capes text Gary and told him that I would be calling him.

It took several calls to get things arranged, Gary didn't want me coming to his house or shop ( fine by me) so we met in a public parking lot. I signed a note saying that I was taking possession and full responsibility of the two sets of antlers and the tanned elk cape.

Dans friend gave me his UPS account info so I built a box and shipped them out.

Hopefully he gets his Muley cape back, the last time I talked to him he still hadn't received it from Gary. ( Gary told me it was in the bottom of a freezer and he couldn't get to it) It was a great buck, and I'm sure it will look awesome once it gets finished.

I know someday I'm going to need somebody to do something like this for me, and hopefully somebody out there will do the same. I'm sure there's plenty of people on here that would do the exact same thing if it was in their hometown.
