So I broke down and bought the ultimate pair of Binos and have only been able to use them once. The focus knob/FieldPro some how popped off on me on my first hunt and they got sent them back to Swarovski. I have know idea how that happened especially since I was being so careful with my new very expensive Binos. So I over nighted them off to Swaro and paid the $50 for a rush and over night back to me.

I just got them back and I forgot and didn't notice the little black on black embossed arrow on the knob that you have to turn the focus knob completely counter clockwise before you can pull it out the to set the diopter:( I pulled it out and their broke again. My bad this time. I was so careful to read the manual when I got them but that was a few weeks now and I just forgot that little trick.

Anybody else have issues with the fieldpro focus? I'm wondering if I should trade these in for an older model with a standard diopter. What concerns me is being a couple of days into $10k-$20k hunt and have this knob break on me again. I feel like I need to bring back up binos with me now.

My feelings is it's a bad design or they haven't worked the kinks out yet.
My wife and I will both use these and I just hope with both remember about the unlock and lock trick as we each set the diopter for ourselves from time to time.

What knob is that ?? I have the EL Range, but I am not familiar with the FieldPro knob. Can you elaborate or show a picture of it?? And NO, YOU CAN'T BORROW MINE EITHER !!!!

Never heard of that nob before.
I have EL's and SLC's and have never had that issue.

(Of course the eye balancing nob (which is what I think that you are referring to) is something that I only pull out the first day that I get them and then they are set for life, or until my eyes change)

Is he referring to the individual eyepiece knobs (or rings) that you lift, then turn to focus each eyepiece seperately? Mine are pretty sturdy, even I couldn't break them and he did it twice?? HE STILL AIN'T BORROWING MINE !!

Now you really have me confused. You bought a cover for a knob?? Can you describe what knob this is again ???

I bought a cover for the binos in the field.

The knob is the focus knob they all have but with the newer ones with fieldpro it 2nds as the diopter knob as well. When pulled out correctly:(
