So I broke down and bought the ultimate pair of Binos and have only been able to use them once. The focus knob/FieldPro some how popped off on me on my first hunt and they got sent them back to Swarovski. I have know idea how that happened especially since I was being so careful with my new very expensive Binos. So I over nighted them off to Swaro and paid the $50 for a rush and over night back to me.
I just got them back and I forgot and didn't notice the little black on black embossed arrow on the knob that you have to turn the focus knob completely counter clockwise before you can pull it out the to set the diopter
I pulled it out and their broke again. My bad this time. I was so careful to read the manual when I got them but that was a few weeks now and I just forgot that little trick.
Anybody else have issues with the fieldpro focus? I'm wondering if I should trade these in for an older model with a standard diopter. What concerns me is being a couple of days into $10k-$20k hunt and have this knob break on me again. I feel like I need to bring back up binos with me now.
My feelings is it's a bad design or they haven't worked the kinks out yet.
My wife and I will both use these and I just hope with both remember about the unlock and lock trick as we each set the diopter for ourselves from time to time.
