Will be going out this weekend in east central ohio. Will report back. Based on the weather we've been having I'm expecting stellar results.

Walked one of our best spots yesterday in Harrison County. Found 5. None big enough to harvest. It was very dry. We kicked up dust as we walked. I have a feeling with the couple days of rain in the forecast, things will be in full swing next weekend. The cold snap Monday and Tuesday will slow things down, but it's back up to seasonal temps by Wednesday.

Still about 2 weeks out on the front range in Colorado, I do believe. Last year was so bad though. Really hoping for more rain.

That's a haul.
It was a great day. We picked over three thousand that year. Over two thousand the next year. Then last year I drove down to camp to find the sycamore flat where we pick them had been clear cut and made into a natural gas well head. What was once the best morel spot in east ohio, is now a giant gravel pad.

Not gonna lie, that one took some getting used to. I've lost more hunting spots than I can count. I always take it in stride. Wasn't my land and I was lucky to have access to it while I could. But losing my mushroom spot was a harsh kick in the balls.

My spot is public land. It looks like some of the undergrowth is coming back, and ive found some morels there again. But it went from prime habitat with downed cottonwoods that would have huge flushes around them, to mostly thorns, willows and grass with a few morels here and there.
