Anybody cut down a Tikka roughtech barrel?

Has anybody chopped a tikka roughtech barrel and threaded it for 5/8x24? I saw one guy who did, chopped it to 18 inches and didn't need a thread adapter. Could I get away with 20 inches? I'm having a hard time finding info on this subject, any insight would be much appreciated.

You will be fine. They come threaded 5/8 from the factory with a heavier barrel profile. I have seen two rough techs cut to 20”. You will be cutting into the flutes but as long as you don’t mind the look you are golden.

I’m not sure about the superlite roughtechs. They may have a smaller barrel profile.

I have a superlite fluted roughtech European model, the barrel is 0.658" in the smooth section immediately behind the silly 15x1 metric thread. Same barrel end diameter as my 300 WSM tx3 lite.
