Anybody chase the mule deer in Nebraska?

I've done some late season antlerless there, but had access to some private land, so didn't hunt the public. What kind of info are you looking for?

We have a group that hunts NW Nebraska every year. Private land but we have checked out the public close to where we go. Tag out every year with Muzzleloader

Just kind of what to expect in early December in Nebraska for muzzleloader. How is the weather and how is the pressure. We hunted rifle last year and it was kind of crazy. Wondering is there would be as many hunters out and about during muzzle season.

I would be glad to answer any questions I could pertaining to Nebraska mule deer I've hunted the state for over 50 years although I have access to and hunt private I do know a little about public. The number of people afield goes way down over the 30 day muzzy season versus the 9 day rifle season. In the muzzy season I've seen anywhere from 80 degrees the trend lately to -20 so that's not much help but that's the way the weather runs. PM me and I'll try to answer when I get back from scouting for a Colorado hunt.

Following...I’ve been researching like crazy trying to figure out where to try for Mulies next year. Nebraska Is on the list.

If all works out here I’ll be heading that way this fall myself. The biologist are very helpful and will give you some good advice.

Stay north of I-80. South is special draw. A lot fewer people out during muzzleloader. Public land is still a pretty tough hunt. I believe a person has a better chance getting permission on private in late December though but the virus may impact that this fall.

I go in December every year, mostly bird hunting but I buy a muzzy tag just in case. Im hunting Private with some buddies that are local. Sounds like public land is sparse

Cold and snow the last two years for us in NW Nebraska the first week of December. Crazy cold two years ago. Never got above 10 the whole time we were there. Last year it was 30’s to 40’s most days.

I plan to be mobile this year. Thought hard about Nebraska as it’s not far from KC. Western Kansas too. Just waiting on my PTO to be approved

Hunted the sandhills unit in Nebraska for a long time on private. Don't anymore but can say you need to prepare for it to be sunny and 70 but also snowy and -10. The weather is a fickle mother F'er here.

As far as where to hunt, I think if you get as far off the beaten path you can the more likely you are for success. I've had horrible luck finding private land to hunt, everyone wants a sizeable amount of cash these days, if they even will consider letting you hunt.

I am heading to Nebraska for archery myself this year for the first time since my buddy didn't get a Wyoming tag. The biologists were very helpful once I tracked the right ones down.

Are the tags OTC? I’m just now starting to look at places I can go archery Mule Deer. I need to Spend more time searching about tag requirements, etc.

I live in Wyoming but have some of the wife’s family in Nebraska. I’d love to go down and get a giant

I’ve looked at Nebraska before, but have been discouraged due to the limited public land opportunities. Seems like muzzle loader season is a better option?
