Was watching Luke's video and liked the idea of the nesting cups jetboil makes for the sumo. Checked to see if they made anything like that for the sol ti and they don't. It's pretty tight in there, but with all the mods and leaving the feet and stuff out there should be some freed up room?? I'm at work so I haven't had a chance to measure or anything..

Wonder if anyone knows of a titanium mug/cup that can slip inside the jetboil sol ti walls but is big enough to hold a small fuel canister? Looks like the Snow Peak 600 holds a canister, not sure if it will go in a jetboi though with it's handle.. May just be too tight for anything..

600 Ti wont fit in a standard PCS Jetboil. Sea to Summit X-Cup will fit.

That might work... Would prefer a ti mug, but my ti mug is always so awkward in my pack.. I may convert if that's the only option, or at least try the X-cup out and see how it does.. Doesn't look too rugged, but it's light

I think you'll be surprised. They are pretty heavy silicon. Have you looked at the Olicamp? I believe a 600 Ti will fit inside, plus canister and stove. If the height is right, Xcup should lay on top. I've got a 600 Ti mug and a SnoPeak Lite max stove, canister, small bic and folding spork will fit with the X-cup riding on top (won't fit inside). Not the most efficient burn in the world, but all that in such a small package aint shabby.

JM, I just use the flux ring protector cap/mixing bowl as my cup. Are you wanting a 2nd cup,
or are you wanting to leave it behind and go all Ti?

I just want something for coffee mainly.. Or my soup packets I sometimes bring with.. I have a Snow Peak 450? and love it but I'm just trying to save space.. I figure if I can stuff everything into the ti and fit the cap on that would be really nice and convenient

I've been playing with alcohol stoves as well. Simple cat stove takes the weight to nothing. You might like a snopeak summit. It has a little squishy bowl and lid. Bit more capacity too. My 600 set up means oatmeal and a small cup of joe for breakfast and a mountain house with water for dinner, unless you wanna do 2 boils. Huntingwise, I ain't trying to be gourmet. Just sucking down calories.

jm,

Since you just want something to heat up water for a warm drink consider this approach. I use a Ti pot with an Esbit stove.

All of this......

Are you able to get a boil out of esbit? I messed around with a WetFire gig and could only get it to 145 degrees. Still a warm cup o joe though.

Yes, I have gotten boils from Esbit tablets. Of course, the ambient temperature affects things, it may not happen surrounded by snow as in the picture. Also, don't forget that it isn't against the law to use more than one tablet at a time to add more heat to the whole system or shorten your time to get a boil or just to heat up your water if that is all you are trying to do. Thinking back to high school chemistry and Standard Temperature and Pressure (STP), you can also make your system more efficient by putting the lid on the pot which will increase the pressure which will reduce the time to get to a specific temperature.

So, to get the most out of Esbit and other similar tablets just remember to 1) keep the wind off with some sort of windscreen (log, tinfoil, whatever), 2) use more than one tablet if you need to, and 3) put the lid on the pot to speed up the heating.

Yup, did all that. Was trying to goose one tab as much as I could. Might give esbit a try for giggles.
