It doesn't matter what plates anyone has, 95% of the CO plated vehicles are being driven by people that have no clue how to drive. I really wish we had mandatory driver's training here like in Switzerland. But even without the training, it shouldn't take very long for folks to figure out that the left lane is for passing (the eventual pass doesn't count), especially with all the signs along the highways that tell them that.

But slow drivers in the mountains don't bother me........until I go to get around them and there we are side by side now doing 30 mph faster than we just were before I tried to pass.

Ha! We'll wave you by!

As long as you don't turn into Mario Andretti when I do pass, you may not even see me blow by.

The other one that has become a real problem is the people that refuse to pass. Going 30 in a 50 through a canyon or lots of curves behind 17 other vehicles, and NO ONE in front will get around the slow-mo. Then when I see an opportunity I'm doing 95 by the time I get to the front lead slow vehicle to get around everyone. That and the 25 pullouts that all the slow traffic has already passed up. This isn't difficult stuff, not sure why so many can't figure it out.

You are so accurate. I noticed the same. I guess when I said "slow", I meant the speed limit give or take.

One more for the OP, I really like the access to public land here, compared to FL. There is just so much opportunity in outdoors. Another pro for me coming from a hot and humid climate is the weather. You can actually camp in the summer here! Now I have seasons whereas before it was hot and not-as-hot.

A con might the population size. All these darn flatlanders *cough* clogging up the highways and backcountry. We did a short hike with the kids one day near boulder, since it was close. It was almost comical the amount of people. Every ten feet, and all with loud conversations or looking at smart phones. We stopped to look at some mule deer bedded down about 150 yards off the trail and no one else noticed the deer or were curious what we were looking at. With it being on the edge of town I didn't expect to have the place to ourselves, but it just struck me. The amount of people out doing stuff is kind of a pro in a way. I enjoy seeing people getting out, whether that's camping in the back country or just jogging in one of the open spaces around Denver.

Getting really tired of south Texas and have been thinking of a move to Co. Nothing set in stone, I am just exploring options right now. Is there any roksliders that made the move from Texas to Colorado? What are the pros and cons that you have seen? Where did you settle?

Thanks in advance for any responses

I did some hard time just north of C. Springs. Outside of taxes, nasty springs snows, points on DL's, below average beach viewing, and short hunting seasons it's not to bad.

Be safe Amigio Harvey ain't playing, some think low cat 4 at land fall. If it hits Port A that means STX will flood out.

Moved from Austin, TX to Wheat Ridge, CO (small city due west of Denver proper) last April. So pissed I did not make the move sooner. I'm in the mountains in 10 minutes. Yes there are a lot of liberal/hippie types on the front range, mostly concentrated in city centers, plenty of the other side too. I'm pretty moderate and open minded and don't feel pushed either way. Traffic is nothing compared to Austin, Houston, Dallas or even San Antonio. If you're stupid enough to leave for the mountains Friday after work, or try to drive up to go skiing Saturday morning at 8am you deserve to sit in that traffic. Avoid those two times and generally you'll be ok. Property taxes are way cheaper, houses are way more expensive! Despite what others are saying there has been a major uptick in industry and manufacturing along the front range. I know a number of companies hiring, including mine. Tech seems to be coming here too. I am working on a lot of new construction projects, expansions, and relocations lately.

Public land hunting and fishing opportunities are too numerous to count. The country is some of the prettiest I have ever seen! Seasons are awesome! At this point I've convinced two out of four siblings to move their families here and my parents just bought a house here this month.
