im wanting to learn how to paint some of my stocks. im wanting to learnn how to do the webbing like on the hs precision stocks,ive been painting cars for 27 yrs so i have a little experience in painting.ive scoured youtube but cant find anything

I haven't painted a stock yet but have been working out how to do so properly. Based on the research I've done here and elsewhere, it seems that for webbing you use a special webbing/marbelizing spray paint. Krylon theoretically makes one, which is what folks seem to recommend. However, I've had difficulty finding it available anywhere. I've found a similar product from Rustoleum that you can actually buy, so I plan to try that.

im trying to not use aerosol products,i have a paint mixing bank and can make all my paint

Actually playing with a few methods and ideas on a spare stock today. I wanted to compare spray vs sponge method for applying over a net bag or stencil. On the other side I am trying inverse color layers.

I've used duracoat with some success. Below is the SFAR i did. Some use cerakote, or even plain spray paint as well to paint stocks/rifles/handguns. I've found duracoat to be pretty durable on long guns...with pistols the edges will wear going in and out holsters many times.

You can also purchase stencils, or just DIY it like i did with the SFAR.
