30 years ago I had a beautiful FJ 40 that was a lot of fun but I ended up selling it to help us get into our first house.
After the new FJ came out in 2007 I always had eyes for it but owning a 4runner and Taco we just couldn't make it happen...
until I ran into this southern rig last week, and I caved:

There’s some folks around here that are nuts for them. A Sikh family down the street has two of them. Always muddy!

I think they're fairly spacious inside. Would never be my DD but I'd consider one. Doesn't look any less goofy than the diesels with a coffee can exhaust and tires sticking out 6 inches from the wheel well..

Always wanted one. Wonder if Toyota will bring them back to compete with the bronco?

Always loved mine bought the first year and traded in for a forerunner two yrs ago….if they keep making them would have bought another one 🤙 will say when I buried mine it was not as easy as getting out my rubicon 🤣 a lot of good times with it and drove awesome on the off road and watch out for the blind spots🤙

They were a pretty good off-the-lot 4 wheel rig, and the 4.0 hauled ass on the highway.

They don't look quite that goofy!

And I'm a diesel guy.

Find a manual! I believe they are full time 4wd. Not having a removable top always hurt sales, then when the newest gen of
The 4runner came out they looked to similar and killed sales. Also they have horrendous blind spots. Me and my wife came really close several times to pulling the trigger on one.

We had a 2007 maroon standard transmission FJ. We loved that thing. We traded it in for 2017 Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro, also a standard, because we got offered stupid money for the FJ. My only complaint of the FJ was it was so small on the inside. As small as the Taco is, my ability to load stuff into it is double that of the FJ. FJ was a super cool truck though.

I have a 2007 6-speed manual I bought new. Very close to 200,000 miles on it. The best vehicle I’ve had by far. Yes it has blind spots but I learned to use mirrors early in life driving on the farm.

God Bless.

Had one. Fun vehicle and was great off road. It was not practical for trips or multiple passengers and gear for hunting.
I put a 3" Toyo lift on it. Wish I would have kept it just for the fun aspect.
