Ill start of by saying I usually stay out of politics but if the liberals stay in power here in Canada I’ll seriously looking ya moving the family else where due to the taxes and housing crisis.

So I am curious if there is any other fellow Canadians that have made the move?

Also hoping to have some suggestions on which states to possibly research. I am currently in northern BC which probably has the best hunting around. But hunting is a huge part of our lives so a state that has good elk and beautiful country would be great

I hate to be the first person to mention this, but we don’t just let people in because they want to live here.

My wifes family moved down from Vancouver I think 15 years ago? My FIL got sponsored by a company in Portland OR and that's how they were able to get down. They still have family on the island and in Cranbrook.

alaska can be your choice if you really want the freedom of hunting as a resident but is coming with a cost like everything ... but thinking poilievre will fix all the issues we have what i can say ... first poilievre is not harper and by far and second he has andrew scheer in his team ... best of the luck for your move.

We can't just bail and let them take over. We need people to be courageous and stand up.

I’m thinking if the liberals do get in again, The quiet hard workers of Canada are not going to be so polite and quiet anymore…….

I'm in BC too just moved from the Skeena Valley to the Shuswap. To be honest I would love to have a country from Manitoba west minus the psychos in Vancouver and Vancouver Island.

Couldn’t agree more. BC has a lot of good folks. Minus the Toronto and Vancouver areas. They created a lot of this mess

They won't be getting in again. All these hype around Carney is just wishful thinking by the media. The guy has zero energy.

With that said who is going to be liberal leader until the fall for the election? Carney seems to be the only one they are pushing

Oh 100%, Carney has had it in the bag for about 8 months. They were already talking about him last summer.

And to the Americans reading this the people booing your national anthem at hockey games is beyond embarrassing. I'm actively routing that the US hammers Canada again if they meet.

I'm deeply ashamed of what this county is. You guys probably felt the same way with all the Clinton's, Obama and Biden. I can't wait to get rid of all these corrupt people one day.

A lot of damage can be done in 8 months. If you haven’t do some reading on him.

Moved his companies headquarters to NYC also is the largest investor in Australian coal. But we need to save the environment with carbon tax

I moved from Quebec to the states in 2000.
Graduated with a degree in fish and wildlife, wanted to move to BC but I couldn’t find work.

Because of my degree I qualified under NAFTA to use the TN visa. Worked mostly contract jobs in Alaska for a few years, then got a fisheries research job in Hawaii. Got married and started a family, and became a US citizen when we moved to eastern Oregon 16 years ago. Been a great move for me and my career, also got my masters degree through USU and life is great here.

Not sure how the NAFTA visas work these days with the “new” NAFTA agreement. It’s not easy. It was stressful and took many years of uncertainty and dragging along year to year hoping they’d renew my visa. Marrying an American was the golden ticket for me, and it all worked out. It’s really hard to establish permanent citizenship in the US. Alaska is a good place to look for opportunities. When I worked there there were quite a few Canadians working jobs that would go unfilled by Americans, but as you can imagine, they tend to be jobs for the younger crowd.

In NHL games they booed the anthem in Vancouver, Toronto Ottawa and of course Montreal. Not sure about the Calgary and Edmonton, in general Albertans have more class.

Edit: not sure about if the booed in Winnipeg either.
