Antler Mildew

Anyone have a solution to preventing mildew/mold growth on antlers? Noticed it on a couple of whitetail mounts at my parents house. My mom has been traveling a good bit since August and the dehumidifiers weren't running while she's been gone. My dad passed several years ago so if she's not home they don't get emptied. Assume it's related to the humidity. Anything I can put on the antlers to seal them or prevent it from happening in the event humidity isn't able to be controlled?

Most hardware stores carry mold/mildew remover in a spray bottle. I had to use it once when I found a plumbing issue, and it worked well. I would try it out on something else first, preferably a shed antler, to see if it leaves a stain or something.

If mildew is growing on mount antlers inside her house you might want to be concerned about where else in the house is affected.
