Antler growth

1000005700.jpgI was using this picture to explain how the thickness of the chest and the abdominal tuck can help estimate the age of deer.........She didnt care.
 
checked one of my spots a couple weekends ago and the antlers are certainly coming in but still pretty small up there above treeline.

On a cool note, i heard two full bugles from a bull on the bench i was on after i bumped a cow out - my first June bugle

I’ll be interested to see what another 5 weeks of growth looks like on these guys. Not sure which one will be bigger. The bull was probably 340” last year, bottom bull looks like he has better fronts and carries more mass. Probably both will be shooters.

This was May 31st while out looking for Turkeys. Front range CO. Walked up to me at 12y
Was setting up to have that real nice n wide frame. G4/5 were knobbed up and splitting few inches when he turned.
