I have used the scope mounted type. I like to put it on my scope before I even mount it on my rifle.

I think in the Tikka UM ring thread a poster was showing that depending which side of the rail it sticks off, the UM Tikka rail mounted level reads different. And I imagine it’s as good if a product as any other rail mounted level.

Scope mounted is the way to go. I like the ones from MK.
