Should draw the Montana 900-20 archery tag this year. Starting to put together my hunt plan and curious how others have done it.

I’m leaning towards having a general route set out for each day to drive and glass. Get out at a few spots and walk in the glass and then back to the truck. Is it better to just say we are going to drive wherever with no plans just trying to find antelope and seeing if they are on public?

I’m a planner. So this is throwing me a bit since for elk I know what general area I’m going to be out hunting on any given day. I think it’s the having the truck and knowing we need to cover ground that’s throwing me off. It’s also not like I’m stuck to a specific unit with that tag.

Any thoughts or experiences on how people planned out a 7-10 hunt is appreciated.

Don't overthink it and put miles on the truck for a couple days and you'll get a good understanding of where to focus your efforts or not. Find one that is stalkable and you'd be happy to kill and do it. Not a very logistically demanding hunt, just go for it.
