Another Zeiss V4 inbound

Am I the only one who can't find ANY usable data from Zeiss website? I had to search rokslide for 30 minutes to find out if it was SFP or FFP.

Question for those in the know...are the turret adjustments a true 1/4 MOA per click or is it a 1/4" at 100 yards.

I dislike MOA and SFP, but may end up with the V4 simply because its the only piece of glass at 20oz that reviews say actually tracks

Also, anybody have the weight of a 4-16x44...coming in as advertised or over?
Just looked at mine it says “1 Click=1/4MOA”

Thanks, they typically all say that online, it takes a call to the tech to confirm, but some companies use 1/4" at 100 yards and call it MOA...not technically the same. I'd hope for $1k they can get the math correct.

That being said, it seems to be the one piece of glass folks are overall happy with in that weight/price point. Leaning towards grabbing one.

And FFP...would have purchased already if it was
I searched high and low on the zeiss website trying to determine if any of their scopes were FFP. I even ordered a catalog. Finally emailed them and they confirmed they only make SFP. Really surprised and unfortunately a deal breaker for me.

What’s that benefit of MILs over MOA? Im
Not a long range guy so that might
Sound like a dumb question but I’m not schooled on this?
There really isn’t much of one other than I know my rifle’s ballistics upside and down in MILs because all my current scopes are MILs.

I'm not for sure how RHR is doing this, but the V4 4-16x50 that I received today is brand new (still in the plastic). If you are hesitant to buy because their website calls this a demo don't be.

Really considering trying out a 4-16x50 to replace my Mark 5HD 3.6-18x44 to drop a few oz and get a bit more friendly eyebox.

I currently have a 4-16x44 that I’m happy with, is there much benefit to go with the 50mm? Thinking about swapping out a 3-10 SHV for another V4 on my 300 win.

How's the eye box on the 4-16x44...more or less forgivable than other similar glass?

If you Google how an optic works there is some good reading.
Basically a bigger objective leads to a bigger exist pupil. Therefore the "eyebox" is more forgiving and it lets more light thru.

So if your happy with the 44 mm you have i do not think there is a reason to go bigger.

I think in scopes that have a large zoom range. Aka 5-30 the long tube reduces exit pupil Therefore you need to start bigger to end up with the same usable exit pupil.

For those interested- my second one came in basically brand new - if it’s a demo, I couldn’t tell. Also these scopes weigh 23 oz w/ batteries in.

Has anyone picked up a pair of the ZEISS Conquest HD Binoculars from RHR? They look like a decent deal and I imagine they are good
Glass. Anyone with experience?

Does anyone know if the tube length is the same or longer on the 4-16x50 as the 4-16x44? Zeiss’s specs show the 50mm being 1/2 inch longer overall but I can’t find the mounting length dimension anywhere. It’s going to be tight with a long action and talleys, my 44mm needs offset mounts to work, assuming a 50mm would as well.

I only have the 4-16×50's. Is this what you're after?20210111_151537.jpg
