Happy holidays from another FNG! I am from Western WA and have spent the last 18 years primarily archery hunting central WA and ID. I am starting to venture into more rifle hunting as it’s more accessible for my father at 59.

I have followed for forum for a while and am finally joining as I work towards a goal of bowhunting mulies in pretty much every western state outside of CA. I look forward to learning more from you all!

Welcome! I’m also in Western WA. Pretty new to hunting.
That is awesome, well most of my experience is central and north central WA archery for deer and elk. I spend a lot of time tinkering with my archery setup. Some experience in central and western ID too for elk and deer. DM feature is not live for me yet, but once it is feel free to holler with any questions. Or in this thread too!

As the self-appointed chairman of the welcoming committee, it is my privilege to extend a laurel, and hearty handshake (virtual, of course) to our new WA member.

Cool I’ve been driving out to the east side for mule deer and whitetail. Haven’t chased elk yet or done much on the west side, but hoping to next season.

Tacoma WA here and this will be my first year rifle hunting. Finishing up with my field test in a few weeks. Excited to actually hunt and taking in so much info here and other places is overwhelming at times.

Don't let those cap forest blacktails drive you nuts but, peak season is normally near Halloween and the second weekend of November.

Still doing research on where to go at this point. I really want to start with elk this year and hopefully go for turkey as well. What's a good site to read up on for areas to hunt for beginners?
