Super Glue has become a staple in my first aid kit for the last few years. Well this year on my sheep hunt I discovered another use for it on my sheep hunt. I have heard of guys in the past sewing lips shut or cutting out an animals toung for their trophy pictures. Well has anyone ever just super glued the lips together? Well it worked great for the trophy photos.

I did not notice any damage the lips just separated after awhile. You don't need a ton just a little to hold them for pictures

I'll have to try that.
Usually I use Super Glue to mend a cut in my skin and find it's as good, if not better than, sutures or staples.

Will it harm the mouth for mounting purposes?

it should not harm the lips plus the lips are tucked on closed mouth mounts anyway and on an open mount a little magic can be worked :) If you looked through a taxidermist shop you will find super glue in most of them.

I carry the 4-pack of individual use bottles of krazy glue in my first aid kit. They come in a small case that keeps them from getting squashed and shooting adhesives all over my pack. It's the easiest way I've found to pack it. A larger bottle tends to get junked up and clogged after the first use if you don't use it regularly. This would allow you to carry a bottle for the pictures and still have a fresh bottle for cuts etc (or vice versa) and still pack the same volume of glue.

Just my 2c.

Good idea there, would have never thought about it. I keep superglue in my pack anyway for cuts and for minor repairs on my bow/gear.
I usually tend to tuck the tongue in and position the camera angle in a way that doesn't show the dropped jaw or hold the jaw to keep it closed.
Thanks for the tip!
