I have a Montbell SS 30 degree bag with 800 fill. I love this thing. I'm a big guy and I don't feel squeezed in the bag at all, but I'm also a warm sleeper. The bag weighs in at 1.5 lbs I believe. If I get cold at night I'll just wear some clothes in it. Can't beat the montbell for a down bag for comfort.

How do you like it? What do you do about the hood?

So far I like it a lot! Haven't been able to test out the temp rating yet but seems fairly comparably to other bags I have used with the same rating. I got a long wide version and I am 5'11". So I can actually snuggle up in it and just leave my face sticking out if need be, so I can make a hood so to speak. But I will just wear my Kuiu beanie and bring another thicker beanie just for that. I also have a fleece I always bring and wrap that around my neck and head too. If I start getting too cold I may buy a balclave but then I would probably just use my Montbell UL spiral 15 degree bag if I knew it was going to be below freezing by very much.
