Idaho deer coming up. I’m about an hour from picking Jenn up. I hope she didn’t pack much :-)

Subscribed and following Les! Good luck out here. We just said goodbye to our first winter storm. You should have 6-8" of snow above 8500, especially on the N. faces. Good weather this week for glassing, but cold in the mornings. Lots of elk hunters out right now, but that'll calm down in the next few days.

Tell Jenn all the best and I'll be watching this unfold. Thanks for taking the time away from the hunt to post, I know it's PIA!
 
We made Rapid City South Dakota late last night. Be on the road shortly here this morning. It’s been a long ride. Absolutely no laughing or fun whatsoever.

About 1:15 am. Base camp is set and organized. Gear is packed and laid out. We are getting up in 3.5 hours. We plan to day hunt up and get a feel for the country tomorrow. When we have a handle on it we’ll likely spike in the following morning.

Heard a few shots up until 11. Pretty quiet since. Nothing spotted so far.

11 elk tonight. 1 raghorn 5 point. The rest cows and calves. No deer. Found a few wolf tracks in the snow.

About 20 elk this morning so far. Some bugling. No deer.
