Another Puffy Option

I purchased a L.L. Bean 850 ultralight puffy last week and have been using it for whitetail hunting. It uses 850 fill power downtek treated down, and although the specs aren't listed for fill weight I contacted L.L. Bean and they said fill weight is 4.3oz. Also features an integral stuff sack and has a micro-fleece fabric on the inside collar making it really comfortable on the face when zipped up.
Compared to my Sierra Designs Gnar Lite this puffy is quite a bit warmer.
Haven't seen this jacket mentioned on here before but for $179.00 (you can also find coupons online, a google search got me a 20% off deal as well) it is worth checking out. Also make women's sizes...GF is getting one for christmas

I ordered the LLBean 850 and the Mountain Hardware Nitrous puffies. Will see which I like best.

I have a couple Eddie Bauer First Ascent down jackets & have started wearing one of them hunting this fall as my puffy on colder days. I figure if they have kept me warm through two MN winters where temps are generally a few degrees on the either side of zero, they'll keep me warm enough while hunting down through the 20s if I'm stationary. They aren't treated down, but I don't worry much about rain when it gets really cold. If there is a chance of rain or mixed precip, I go with the First Lite.

I also looked at the Feathered Friends Daybreak 900+ at 2.8 oz fill and Montbell Alpine Light jacket, that is 800 at 4 oz fill. Golite Bitterroot (remove hood) 850 at 5.2 oz fill, or Golite demaree 800 at 4oz fill.

Looking for a warm, thin and lighter jacket.

I've had my eye on the GoLite Selkirk Ultralight. 800 fill goose down. Weighs in at 6 oz.

I've been wearing a Mountain Hardwear Ghostwhisperer pretty much every day this winter. It's not a great outer layer IMO, but a fantastic liner jacket. It's thin... 7.5 oz, packs super small, is cut to fit under a shell. I really like it.

Received the the LLBean 850 and the Mountain Hardware Nitrous. MH is lighter and less fill, the LLBean is heavier and more wind resistant and more fill and warmer. MH going back and keeping the LLBean. LLBean seems to be a little more wider cut in body, MH is slimmer cut and a little longer.
