Here's another bow I finished up a while back. Lots of bumps and wiggles made for a fun tillering job. Turned out to be a great shooter. Easy to shoot all day being a little lighter than my normal hunting weight.

Actually my first about 4 years ago was a shooter, although it took some set. It's currently in the rework pile to see if I can get it to stay straighter when un-strung. I've had one blow up spectacularly since then, though. 😉 I've made around 15 so far now including a few kid's bows (just as demanding) and haven't had another one break. Yet.

I'd say go for it, it's not rocket surgery. Just takes patience and some basic hand tool skills. You'll learn more with each one, I read and watched videos for years before I finally jumped in. Certainly helped a lot watching and listening to experienced guys build them.

Beautiful bow. That takes a combination of talent and experience. I made a few hickory backed bows years ago and never had a real shooter at the end. I can fully appreciate what you put into this bow!

Thank ya kindly! Gotta admit, this was one I'd work on, stare at, then set aside for a while. Finally just decided I was either gonna blow it up or have a shooter. Lots of patience required for this one. Appreciate it!

Like the character
Thanks, a little of everything on this one. It's actually a belly split off a big stave. Still have the outer split for when I feel like making another nail-biter lol
