Another MT draw question...

I consider myself somewhat educated on western hunting and applications, but I'm not sure I'll ever have MT figured out. I've never hunted MT and I have 3 PP and 3 BP, so a general tag should be a slam dunk. (which is ok, I'm fine hunting a general unit) If I apply for LE elk tag in unit XXX, does the deer tag stay a general tag? Would the deer and elk tag have to be drawn in the same LE unit? I think the combo part of this is confusing me.

No. You could put in for a deer LE permit that’s separate from your elk permit. You will draw the big game combo with 3 PP, and depending on where/if you put in an elk permit could get that. If you don’t draw any permits than you will just have both general deer and elk. If you draw an elk permit and don’t put in for or draw a deer permit, than you’re deer tag will be good for any general unit.
