First off thanks for all the folks who have posted on Rokslide! Being a FNG, y'all have helped me tremendously in my search for Elk.
I grew up chasing deer, caribou, moose, sheep, and a ton of salmon up in Alaska but moved to Oregon in 2020 for work. Just now getting back into the sportsman lifestyle and thoroughly enjoying it. Chased elk around central Idaho last year with a rifle but was unsuccessful (though a buddy tagged a nice mature bull). Hoping to call in some rosies this year for bow season. Would love to meet some local Willamette Valley Oregon folk if anyone is near Salem. Looking forward to sponging more info off you more experienced hunters and hopefully contributing in due time.
