So after many weeks of intense Internet research. I decided to buy a Stone Glacier Terminus. I looked hard at the MR metcalf, the kifaru high camp 7000.

Several factors led to the decision to go with the SG pack.

It's weight, availability, simplicity in design but still cleverly functional.
It was really similar to my last backpack very minimalist. I just feel like all the zippers and pockets add weight.

I liked the Metcalf but wanted a bigger bag and it was heavier then then SG.

Kifaru's are awesome but well they take a while to be built and hunting season waits for no man.

Hope this post made some
Sense I'm took and ambien people do crazy shit on ambien. Like order really expansive backpacks while their wife is sleeping lol. J/k I had the blessing already ...

Let us know how you like it. This is my first year trying a backpack hunt. I have to prove to myself that I can pull off a 4-5 day backpack hunt before I can pull the trigger on a new pack. I currently have a Badlands.

Hi Rick,
I too picked up the SG Terminus and the approach. I have had the Terminus out 3 times sense I got it and it works a lot better than my previous packs. I still need to order the lumbar support as the bottom sits on the top of my butt after a bit of walking. The one thing I am still getting use to is not having any external pockets. I have been contemplating making some mod’s to the bag to accommodate the addition of some external pouches, just have not fully thought out what I want. Here is a pick from Grand Mesa last weekend at Dugger resv.

Hi Rick,
I too picked up the SG Terminus and the approach ...... I still need to order the lumbar support as the bottom sits on the top of my butt after a bit of walking.

I had the same issue. A SG lumbar support with half the foam removed turned out to be perfect to fill that gap without being to aggressive. It's a good piece of kit that is easy to customize to your shape, can be moved up and down, etc. It's also lightly rubber coated to reduce slip.

SG sells several "bolt on" pockets that can be used on the sides or back, so I'm assuming you are looking at some other option? Permanently sewing something on? I haven't bought any pockets yet, but might pick something up one of these days for those times I need more volume. Right now, the left side zip I added gives me all the access I need.

Yk

I received my SG Solo about three weeks ago and absolutely love it. I took my first trip out with it a week ago. An overnighter in the backcountry setting out trail cams and then scouting a new area. I had about 60 pounds in my Solo at one point and it felt great. Mine is set up with the belt pouches, which are the best i have ever seen and the spotting scope pocket. I just ordered the lumbar pad to play around with. I think i am gonna love this pack.

I ordered a yard of 500 cordura off ebay and the k-hooks from mil-spec monkey. Total cost of my home made grab-it was under 10.00. If you sweet talk your wife i am sure she will sew one up for you. Also i am including a picture of my Kifaru E and E attached to my SG. It buckles right up and adds another 1,000 cui and give you a run and gun day pack.

You really over estimate my wife's domestication lol. But I might be able to sweet talk my mom.

Only the first photo is loading for me.

I too have the SG Terminus and love it. I have all the accessories and bought a grab-it from Kifaru after having it all on there and using it I found that I don't really need any of it but one belt pocket. The simplicity of it all is what I really like about it along w/the light weight & comfort of the pack/frame.

Only other accessory I might add is a spotting scope pocket. I am thinking the grab-it would be cool to stuff it with things like my trash bag or dirty ground cloth stuff that I really don't want inside my bag. The load cell adds to the core function of the bag so I felt it was a must have accessory.

Anyone have a grab-it for sale? 😃

Do the straps that go across the back come off or are they sewn on just wondering if you can strap a bow to the back of the pack or not?

How do the belt pouches attach? Any chance you could snap a pic or two of the back? I can't seem to find any online. Thanks!
