I used to cowboy for a rancher in the Little Belts back in the mid/late '70s and there was this pretty little stream that flowed into the Smith where I killed my first bear, Tenderfoot Creek.

Do most of my hunting with a recurve, sometimes a longbow, (I would kill a wolf with anything available), and looking forward to hunting elk this fall in NW WY where my son summers. If that doesn't fill the freezer I should, God willing, be able to put a couple whitetails down at home.

As a lurker here I've already gleaned a wealth of knowledge, not sure if I'll be able to reciprocate much, ha.

My best hunting years are behind me now, still got a few in me, but I'll be living them vicariously through you young bucks, thank you. Rok on!

Welcome, you probably forgotten more about hunting then we even know, my dad still hunts and he is in his 70's, best moose caller I know. He laughs at me for going after moose in the backcountry when he says you can just call them to you. :p

You just keep on hunting, even if it's just to keep the wolves in check. I'm with you in the "any weapon." Welcome aboard.

Welcome Tenderfoot. I'm sure you can teach us a few things on the Traditional thread

Thanks for the welcome Brothers, I'm probably not the best teacher, but I can certainly express my opinions on Trad archery. As far as opinions go, I'm really not a wolf hater. Like everybody I know, I think that wolves, the animals themselves, are kinda cool. I do hate just about everything with the re-introduction program that was rammed down our throats. And what they stand for, the anti-hunting movement. OK, off my soapbox.

Good to have you Tenderfoot. Love the longbow angle and hope you can be the first to kill a wolf with one!
