So here I am sitting in the stand for michigans bow opener. Life is good and I’m trying to will a big buck into existence. I start admiring my lift 33 hanging off the pine tree I’m in. That’s when I see it……..the dreaded cracked limb. Good thing I took all week off and can at-least enjoy being up north. IMG_2612.jpeg

Could be worse.

Keep hunting! I had the same thing happen on my Mathews DXT. I realized it on a Thursday evening after a 3 hour ride to deer camp. I shot an arrow at camp without a problem, went hunting and killed a buck Friday evening.

I have never witnessed or seen the aftermath of a "catastrophic" limb failure in the lifts, due to the manufacturer defect. ( Not to confuse with abuse or operator error). I am sure it has happened, its not meant to discredit those who have seen the defect catastrophically fail. I have seen the cracked limbs multiple times over hundreds of lifts. All have been similar to the OP situation. Multiple situations the owner didn't even know, but brought in the bow for another reason and the crack was discovered through routine inspection, or tuning trouble was traced to the cracked limb/s.

That’s funny. Never happened to me but I wouldn’t take thought of still continuing the hunt. Not a catastrophic failure expected?
It is not a true cracked limb. It is a slight splinter or delamination. It is cause for replacement but not an indication of immediate failure.
