I recently bought six Annihilator Katana 100-grain broadheads and decided to switch back to a fixed blade after shooting Rage mechanicals. I’m curious what kind of feedback others have on them. I primarily hunt whitetail deer but also head out West every few years for bigger game.

Would appreciate hearing about your experiences — accuracy, penetration, blood trails, etc.

I started back now hunting this year with a 2015 Elite E32, setup in 2016…..
I ran 100 grain Rage Hypo’s

2 deer
1 doe at 22 yards punched through both lungs and arrow flopped out 10 yards away

1 220 pound plus 10 p at 12 yards
Heart shot, arrow flopped out 2-3 yards away

I don’t shoot deer with a bow at 35 or longer, it’s just not for me. My bow is at 70/29 so I have no concerns with the mechanics in those conditions.

Both deer ran, the buck made it 90 yards into a field, the doe 130 yards then stood for 5-10 minutes before falling.

I have used fixed blades, and really can see no advantage for them on deer if you can hit your mark.

My bow is tuned to the Rages. It’s a hunting tool, and I shoot only enough to be consistent at 20-30 yards…

Hit your mark and the deer will die, the head doesn’t matter that much if using decent stuff.

Only one kill. They are tiny, if you can't shoot them well you need to find a different hobby. The entry and exit hole was small, did I mention they are tiny? Blood was sparse, well maybe thats too generous. The deer died in sight, 30 or 40 yards or so.

Friend of mine shot a javelina with one about a month ago. As others have said, they are a tiny broadhead! He did get an impressive blood trail and it was down incredibly fast. Entry and exit holes were bigger than I expected. Shot was quartering to on a bedded pig, entry was below the eye and exit was far side arm pit
