Do you have a better suggestion for a search engine that gets around this? DuckDuckGo?

There are a host of reasons that Google limits search results, too many for me to list, but this link summarizes them (yes, they are being apologists for Google, but at least it identifies most of the issues): https://techjournal.org/why-is-google-not-showing-all-search-results
As for alternatives, DuckDuckGo is pretty much Google with the benefit of anonymity, so the likelihood of accessing more websites seems pretty low using that search engine. Instead, do a web search for "alternative search engines" and you'll see there are plenty of choices out there. I usually begin with Startpage.com or Dogpile.com, but when searching hard for something will try all kinds of seemingly obscure alternatives.
