I reload ammo for friends and they pay me.
I'm trying to come up with an appropriate price to get paid for my efforts but also not gauge too harshly.
I also do load dev for them.

They provide the components, or i buy them and add that to the bill..

What would be a fair price to take a fired case to a loaded case?

Deprime Size, anneal, trim chamfer deburr, clean, and load.

I have a zero press, amp annealer, fx120 scale and henderson trimmer so my tools are pretty decent for consistency.
I was thinking $3 a round ? But maybe I'm a little high? What say you guys

$3/round using components they provided, but you dont want to gouge? :ROFLMAO: Your friends need better friends...

Can only think of one person I would load anything for. I'd get some components outta the deal but thats 'bout it. I consider him a friend and not a customer though.

Yea maybe. But then they could also buy the same tools i have, and then somehow manage to get 14 ish years of reloading knowledge and and shooting skills overnight. To me that's worth something. My time and trips to the range/gas ain't free. Going to the range to do load development, with the general public and dealing with them while trying to shoot on my days off, can take an entire day or days.

If u wanna do that kinda stuff for free be my guest.

What kind of accuracy are your customers getting with your ammo?
1/2-3/4 for 3-5 shots... I dont do a lot of 10+ Round groups. Had 1 300 rum that did just barely over 1/2 moa for 5 shots

If the rifles will shoot consistently near 1/2 for more than 2 groups then i consider it good enough.

I then shoot at 550 to make sure it holds its accuracy. I would shoot farther but that's as far as the plates go at my range.

And people using my reloaded ammo have taken game out to 700 yards so far.

Quite a few in the 500 yard range and some closer.

They know how to shoot then. Though they could have done that with factory ammo as well, and saved a few bucks.

I wouldn't say they "know" how to shoot. They've been successful at the attempts they have made at distance.

Most likely, yes... and i advised them that. Or they could get a batch of junk factory ammo that won't shoot or anywhere near the velocity the cartridge is capable of.

I have a seekins rifle that will shoot lights out, with the right lots of ammo, I have almost 100 rounds of factory ammo that it won't shoot less than 1.5 moa for a 3 shot group.
