I’ve got a moose hunt this fall as well. Plan to shoot my 7mm rem mag with Barnes 160 grain. I expect a closer shoot in Maine than I would out west or in Alaska/Canada. I realize 7mm isn’t ideal, but I think it will be fine????
7mm is more than ideal for Moose

I'll be hunting moose in Alberta, as well. I'll be near Peace River (Falher). Hoping to punch my tag with an open sighted Savage 99F in .308, pushing 150 TTSXs, if the terrain is suitable. If not, I'll go to a scoped Montana in
7-08 and 120 TTSXs. Been using TTSXs in multiple chambers for 20 years with nothing but great results. They would be another excellent option for the OP's 300 Win.

If I could afford to hunt a moose, I can't, I'd take one of two rifles and loads. either my 30-06 with 180gr Hornady SP's or my 6.5x55 with 140gr Speer HC's. Well maybe. Just got my 260 put together and really liking it with 140gr Speer HC's. Primary going in would be the 30-06!
