Hi,
Ive only been into archery for just under a year now. Ive been shooting pretty good groups 2-3 inches but trying to improve.
I have a hoyt torrex
I was thinking maybe Im adding torque when i aim, when I draw back my bow its sight bubble is way off to right. I then "twist" the bow till level.
Is this OK or do i need stabiliser bars and balance better? Any tips/ideas appreciated.
thanks and happy arrow slinging!

Hi Billy Goat,
Thanks for your reply!
my grip seems ok, i was just curious if "leveling" added torque as sometimes my groups are not as consistent as id like, might be my anchor though or just i need more practice... to the range(diy bush targets) I go!
thanks!

My bow hand is neutral and almost limp. I don’t use the hand manipulate the position of the bow. I do rotate the shoulder and shoulder blade back on that arm, and use movement of the whole arm to bring the sight to the target. As I try to picture the way I shoot, it’s kind of like extending my hand to shake a guy‘s hand, but keeping the fingers like a limp fish. The diagram above is good.

thanks again for replying!
im not using my bow hand to level it... more practice me thinking, will pay a coach if i ever get near a town with one, makes it fun learning the hard way sometimes, love it though
thanks for ideas

What would cause some arrows to almost spiral to target missing my target by a few inches. Some good, some bad, it's not consistent so it must be me...
Thanks!

I don't know why it took me so long to realize it, but it seems one way to assess the influence of your hand/wrist position is to look up at the top cam while drawn after leveling. If the string is coming off the cam at an angle, you can modify your wrist position slightly until it's coming off in line with the cam.

Been trying to watch the cam angle to string when at full draw and leveled, looks fine and aligned spot on to the naked eye.

Has to be something dumb I'm doing!

I thought at first it was certain arrows but nope all do it randomly, 1 out of 10 shots maybe less somedays. They spiral like a cork screw at 30m only after about 20m flight.

When I brought my bow all fletchings were bent and very poorly made so I make my own now thinking it may solve the problem, seems much better quality and cheaper but still the old cork screwer. Alot of shops in Australia don't take pride in their work anymore, just give us your money.
