Did mine today. Not overly thrilled with the texture consistency coming out of the can, but it turned out fine. There’s a few “textured” spots. We’ll see how it holds up.

It likes to clump up out the nozzle. If you don't have already, get a clean out nozzle from brownells. You'll need it if you ever want to use the paint again. Helps dramatically with the clumping.

Just did my second. Really happy with how it turned out. Just waiting on cure time now while waiting for my stock to come in.

Finish is a little different than the Kelbly finish but still way better than the polished SS shank and muzzle.

My advise after many uses.

80 deg F temp or higher. It dont like less at all.
Shake can more than you think you need, then shake that much more.
And again, 80 deg lower temp limit.

Is that for issues with adhesion or issues with spray consistency?

It was definitely colder today but warmed the can up and warmed up the BA. Seemed to work fine

Mostly to do with spray and lay down. If the object and the paint in the can aren’t warm it doesnt spray or lay down well.

Don’t believe I’ve had any issues with adhesion. Ive painted stainless(bead blasted), blued (the new flat looking stuff), plastic, carbon fiber and paint (painted over a Kimber montana stock).

In all cases the Alumahyde has held well and been fairly tough.

Yes it is.

This is the final product. The only alumahyde used was one coat on the barrel shank and at the end of the barrel before the threaded section.

Looks good. I think I’ll do the same on my barrel. Sharp looking rifle btw.

Waiting on some warmer temps, got a barrel I need to spray.

Hopefully it works because I’m getting sick of paying for cerakote
