Anyone used these for hunting? I hear a lot of complaints on waterproofing. Wondering how they do in brush/poky places as well. Thinking about getting a pair as I absolutely love the Lone Peak shoes.

The plus version of regular line peaks are very good (though not as durable as topo's) but I found the mid size didn't fit nearly as well, were less comfortable, and not that waterproof.

I live in the low's and got a pair of mid waterproofs for a September muzzle loader hunt in KS. I did 16 miles across 2 days in them and they were very comfortable as expected. My only real complaint was how fast they wet through.

The waterproofing was my main concern with them

They are super comfortable to me, probably even more than the lows. They wet through so easily that their waterproofing makes Salomon boots feel like Xtra Tuffs in comparison. The fabric doesn’t seem to be treated with any kind of DWR and wets out very easily.

No synthetic boot is going to work well in brush, thorns, etc and maintain any level of waterproofness. The GTX liner will be Swiss cheesed quickly.

That said, they do dry out pretty quickly. Should be fine for a lot of western hunts.
